KC TECHNOLOGIES is owned and operated by Kirk S. Caskey and his wife Nancy. Kirk has been a resident of the area since 1964 when his family moved here so that his father could teach chemistry at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Kirk attended public school in Carbondale and then SIU. After working in the public sector for the next several years, Kirk attended John A Logan College in Carterville. He graduated from there in the spring of 1993. During that time in college, and afterward, Kirk worked as a draftsman/designer in the manufacturing industry in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. In the fall of 1993, Kirk accepted a draftsman/designer position with an architectural firm in Carbondale. While working for the firm, Kirk installed their first network, expanded computer integration into all areas of production, and installed and serviced all of the firm's computer workstations, laptops and servers. KC TECHNOLOGIES began as a part-time computer repair business in 1997 while Kirk was working full-time for the architectural firm. In the fall of 2004, after over eleven years in architecture, Kirk left that industry to pursue his passion for technology full-time. Since that time, Kirk has seen KC TECHNOLOGIES grow into a thriving business that helps clients solve their technology issues, assists them with their technology decisions and provides them with insights into the future of the technology industry.
KC TECHNOLOGIES serves both the private sector and small businesses in Murphysboro, Carbondale, and the surrounding area. Our business customers include many local companies, with anywhere from one to almost one-hundred employees. Most of our customers are dedicated, long-time customers who value the services we provide and the way in which we provide them. Dedicated to honesty and integrity in our business, KC TECHNOLOGIES seeks to provide only quality products and services that we research, test and utilize within our own company and personally. KC TECHNOLOGIES now operates out of an office in the Splattered Ink Professional Building in downtown Murphysboro. The building is a beautiful, historic building that provides a professional atmosphere, and has excellent access to the current technologies required for the successful operation of our business. Our downtown location provides convenient access for our customers, with ample parking, and walking access for us to many of the support services we need. The city of Murphysboro is a great location for us to quickly travel to any of our business customers within Jackson County in Southern Illinois. The city of Murphysboro is located in central Southern Illinois, and is a sceneic, historical community with a wonderful hometown atmosphere.
